Auntie Sally took me aside sometime in July and taught me how to single stitch crochet. I had a hard time holding the hook and the yarn, and her nephew teased me--I would be lucky if I could make a sweater for a New York City Rat. I have shown him. Here was the first project I worked on, and never again will I make a single crochet afghan. Too much yarn, not enough patience. This first project went to baby Caroline, whom I then baptized. Pictures of her and
blankie and me will follow, once Sarah send them along.
